From our church - One of our members said, "This has been a dream of my life." "Having gone in June with the Conference, we will do all we can to help others experience the great blessing that comes from going and helping," said Rachelle. "You can count on my wife and me going on this trip. We don't want to miss out," said Whitmore Pastor Randy Brehms.
The church only has 48 members, but within about 90 days, they had the $9000 raised for the church structure. They are now working hard to help some raise their expenses in order to go.
The church has also purchased 50 Bibles in Portuguese (the national language of Mozambique) to provide the families of the new church there. They also hope to package some rice and beans to give to the families near the worksite. All who are going are anxious to enjoy an evening and a day safari in Kruger National Park.
Each Sabbath for the past three months, the Dederers have made an effort to promote this mission trip. Within two weeks of announcing their desire to go to Mozambique, the church had 14 sign up. No one has had a change of heart and all the funds are in hand.
"I would add that our Whitmore church is not a wealthy church, but everyone is committed and very supportive. This won't be our last mission trip," said Richard and Rachelle Dederer.
